COURAGE

Lord, I commit my failures

as well as my successes

into your hands,

and I bring for your healing

the people and the situations,

the wrongs,

and the hurts of the past.

Give me courage, strength and generosity

to let go and move on,

leaving the past behind me,

and living the present to the full.

After St.Augustine

Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers

but to be fearless in facing them.

Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain,

but for the heart to conquer it.

Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved,

but hope for the patience to win my freedom.

Grant me that I may not be a coward,

feeling your mercy in my success alone,

but let me find the grasp of your hand

in my failure.

(Rabindranath Tagore)

At midday In my busyness Stop me in my tracks, Lord and teach me Love’s Way Unwrap me from my selfish self; Exhume me from this busyness; Free me from doing hurt and harm.

Loving Lord, with outstretched arms, What am I doing? What have I done with this gift called love? At the Cross – the place of our cruelty –

is also where we can and must be excessively kind,

forgiving and gentle,

both to others

and to ourselves. For (t)here where we think it all ends, is often where love also begins....

Fr Russ Blassoples

Deuteronomy 31:6, 8.

Be strong and courageous.

Do not be afraid or terrified because of them,

for the Lord your God goes with you.

He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Do not be afraid.

Do not be discouraged

Isaiah 41:10

Do not fear, for I am with you.

Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you.

I will uphold you.

Give me strength when I am weak,

love when I feel forsaken,

courage when I am afraid,

wisdom when I feel foolish,

comfort when I am alone,

hope when I feel rejected,

and peace when I am in turmoil.
