SHAPELY SPIRITUALITY - PATTERNS OF PRAYER IN THE PANDEMIC
Christ, be our fundamental food, bread for our souls.
Broken you were, because broken we are.
Graces multiply like loaves and fishes.
You lavish endless love on us
when you come to us;
and make us one,
when you are
our very
food.
The Prayer of the Chalice
Father, to Thee I raise my whole being, – a vessel emptied of self. Accept, Lord, this my emptiness, and so fill me with Thyself – Thy Light, Thy Love, Thy Life – that these Thy precious Gifts may radiate through me and over- flow the chalice of my heart into the hearts of all with whom I come in contact this day revealing unto them the beauty of Thy Joy and Whole- ness and the serenity of Thy Peace which nothing can destroy.
TODAY: HALF-FULL OR HALF-EMPTY?
Today was the absolutely worst day ever
And don't try to convince me that
There's something good in every day
Because, when you take a closer look,
This world is a pretty evil place.
Even if
Some goodness does shine through once in a while
Satisfaction and happiness don't last.
And it's not true that
It's all in the mind and heart
Because
True happiness can be obtained
Only if one’s surroundings are good
It's not true that good exists
I'm sure you can agree that
The reality
Creates
My attitude
It's all beyond my control
And you'll never in a million years hear me say that
Today was a good day
Now read this from the bottom to the top
Written by Chanie Gorkin from Brooklyn; asking the question:
"Is your glass half-full or half-empty?" Look for
the good in all things, and you create
positive energy all around.
It all depends on
how you look
at it.
