ON THE JOURNEY WITH US

THE THIRD TUESDAY WITHIN EASTERTIDE

Jesus made such a difference to the way those two disciples journeying to Emmaus saw the events of that resurrection Weekend. Whose shoes has Christ walked in to change your perspective on things as you have journeyed through life? Through whom has Jesus made a difference in your life? Let’s pause a little today to give thanks for those who have been a part of our lives, and in whose company the journey became easier.

SOME PEOPLE by Flavia Weedn

Some people come into our lives leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same. They celebrate the true essence of who we are… and have faith in all that we may become.

Some people awaken us to new and deeper realizations… for we gain insight from the passing whisper of their wisdom.

Throughout our lives we are sent precious souls… meant to share our journey, however brief or lasting their stay they remind us why we are here.

Some people come into our lives to cast a steady light upon our path and guide our every step; their shining belief in us helps us to believe in ourselves.

Some people come into our lives to teach us about love… The love that rests within ourselves.

Some people come into our lives

and they move our souls to sing and make our spirits dance. They help us to see that everything on earth is part of the incredibility of life… and that it is always there for us to take of its joy.

Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same.

LUKE CHAPTER 24, verses 25-29: He said to them, “How foolish you are, and

how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.

In my journeying with you, Lord, may I never lose my sense of direction, never lose sight of the landmark towards which I travel. And should cloud or rain obscure my vision, may I draw closer to you, so that my feet may tread in your footsteps, your words be my encouragement, and your love my protection against the storms that assail me.

Your light is the only light I need as I travel through life's mystery. Your word the only voice I hear, that still small voice that leads me to the place where I should be. Your presence is the only company I need, as I walk this narrow road. Your fellowship the warmth I crave to help me on my way

THANKSGIVING FOR

SPECIAL PEOPLE

who have been with us

when life's journey

has been difficult.

Thank you, Lord, for friends

who have been with me

in the difficult places on my journey,

and for your presence in them,

when you were with me all along.

FRIENDSHIP - William Penn

A true friend

unburdens freely,

advises justly,

assists readily,

adventures boldly,

takes all patiently,

defends courageously,

and continues to be a friend

unchangeably.

God go with us on our one journey with many roads, with our companions on the road.

Revive us when we grow weary,

direct us when we go astray,

inspire us when we lose heart.

Keep us travelling ever onwards,

looking to Jesus Christ who has run the race before us and who waits to welcome us home.

COLLECT FOR THIS WEEK:

O God, whose greeting we miss and whose departure we delay:

make our hearts burn with insight on our ordinary road;

that, as we grasp you in the broken bread,

we may also let you go, and return

to speak your word of life

in the name of Christ.

Janet Morley

We ask Mary, the Mother of Jesus, to pray with us to her Son

for those making a difficult journey navigating their way through this pandemic,

and for our own journeying through the next few days.

THE REGINA COELI - Joy to thee, O Queen of Heaven. Alleluia! He whom thou wast meet to bear, alleluia! As he promised, hath arisen, alleluia! Pour for us to him thy prayer, alleluia!

Rejoice and be glad,O Virgin Mary, alleluia!

For the Lord is risen indeed, alleluia!

O God, who through the resurrection

of Thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ didst vouchsafe to give joy to the world: grant, we beseech thee, that through His Mother, the Virgin Mary,we may obtain the joys of everlasting life.

Through Christ our Lord.

Wherever the journey takes me,

I give thanks for those God has given to accompany me.

I put my hand in God's, the God of past, present and future

And walk confidently with Him wherever He may lead.

Alleluia! Christ is risen.

He is risen indeed. Alleluia!

Let us bless the Lord.

Thanks be to God!
