At best, Lockdown has given us a wonderful opportunity

to slow down and appreciate the things around us.

I have, for instance, noticed how much more beautiful is the place in which I live

than ever I noticed before Lockdown. Lovely places to walk, panoramas to enjoy,

and sounds to hear that are normally drowned out

by the busyness out of Lockdown.

Jesus stopped….

Jesus watched……

Jesus listened……….. the ordinary things in everyday life …

“Consider the lilies of the field,

the birds of the air…”

Look at the ordinary things around you today.

What do they say to you of God?

Michel Quoist - “The Father has put us into the world,

not to walk through it with lowered eyes,

but to search for him through things, events, people.”

Morning prayer before work

Dear God,

As the sun rises bringing a new dawn

Help me this day to allow your hope to rise up within me.

That I may carry this new dawn

To my family, my work and my dreams.

I give you all that I am this day.

Please brush away my weariness,

So that I may be inspired in my work.

Help me to discover new ways to reveal your love to all I meet.

Keep my mind clear and focused on all I need to achieve,

And give me the wisdom to overcome difficulties and find solutions.

I look to you and trust you are with me this day.

Short Prayer Before Work Starts

As the sun rises may your love rise in my heart.

A love that dispels tiredness.

A love that overcomes difficulty.

A love that builds relationship.

A love that inspires diligence.

A love that delivers excellence.

A love that develops trust.

A love that produces praise.

Lord, may I live in the light of your love.

Nurses prayer before work

Loving Father,

May I be your hands and feet today,

Bringing comfort, healing and care.

May I speak with your love,

Bringing hope, understanding and kindness.

May I carry your peace in my heart,

Bringing clarity, reassurance and calmness.

May each moment be filled with heavenly truth.

With you I am stronger, kinder and wiser.

Come lead me through each moment

And watch over my working day.

Dear Father in Heaven,

Here, safe with you, I drink in your peace.

Help me to sift through the many experiences, feelings

and thoughts I have encountered today.

I allow myself to rest, to wind down and to be still.

Help me to surrender all I am to you,

my fatigue, my concerns, my hopes and fears.

As I sleep tonight, I choose to hold your hand.

I choose to live with you.

I choose to believe,

I choose to trust,

I choose you always.
